Graphite grease. GOST 3333-80. Specifications (with Changes N 1, 2, 3)
International standard Graphite grease Specifications Information data
1. Developed and submitted by the Ministry of oil refined and petrochemical industry of the USSR. 2. Approved and put into effect by the Resolution of State Committee of standards of the USSR of September 3, 1973 N 2328. 3. Instead of GOST 3333-55 4. Reference normative and technical documents.
5. The term limit was lifted under the Protocol N 5-94 of the Interstate Council for standardization, Metrology and certification (IUS 11-12-94). 6. Edition with Changes N 1, 2, 3 approved in November 1982, in October 1985, in December 1989 (IUS 2-83, 1-86, 4-90). This standard applies on the graphite grease (grease UssA) intended for lubricating of rough heavy loaded mechanisms (open gear transmissions, threaded connections, spindles, jacks, springs, etc.) The temperature range of application is from minus 15 to plus 70 Celsius degree. It’s allowed to apply the grease at a temperature below minus 20 Celsius degree in springs and analogue devices. Designation of the grease according to GOST 23258 is СКа 2/6-г3. (Revised version, Ed. N 3). 1. Specifications 1.1 The grease must be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard, according to technological which applied during producing of grease samples passed state tests with positive results and were approved for using in established order. 1.2 (Excluded, Ed. N 3). 1.2 According to physical and chemical indicators, the grease must comply with the requirements and standards are represented below:
Note. The indicators for items 7 and 8 of the table are determined by the manufacturer before the introduction of the filler. (Revised version, Ed. N 1, 2, 3). 2. Safety requirements 2.1 The graphite grease by degree of impact on the body belongs to the 4th hazard-class according to GOST 12.1.007. The maximum permissible concentration of mist of the grease oil base in the air of operating area of the production room mustn’t be above than 5 mg/m. 2.2 While operate with the grease must apply personal protective equipment according to the industry standards approved in the established order. (Revised version, Ed. N 3). 2.3 The grease is intrinsically safe, the flash point temperature above 210 Celsius degree. 2.4 When spilling, the grease should be collected in a container, the place of spillage should be wiped dry with the rag, which must be placed in a special metal box. 2.5 Production rooms must be equipped with supply and exhaust ventilation. The equipment must be grounded from static electricity. 2.6 In case of fire all fire extinguishing means are applied: thinly sprayed water, chemical, air-mechanical, high-yield foam and powder compositions. 3. Acceptance rules 3.1 The grease is taken in batches. A batch is considered to be any quantity of grease homogeneous on the quality indicators, issued by a quality document. 3.2 The volume of samples is determined according to GOST 2517. 3.3 If unsatisfactory test results are obtained for at least one indicator, repeated tests are performed on a newly selected sample take from the same sample. The results of repeated tests are distributed to the entire batch. 3.4 The indicators “penetration” and “colloid stability” are determined by the manufacturer only if the graphite grease is exported. 4. Test methods 4.1 The volume of samples is determined according to GOST 2517. For the combined sample, take 1 kg of grease. (Revised version, Ed. N 1). 4.2 To determine the appearance, the grease is applied on the glass plate size 50x70x2 mm according to GOST 111, or other transparent colorless glass using a metal stainless template, thickness (2+/-0,1) mm (see the drawing). Maximum deviations of the template sizes +/-1 mm. The template is tightly applied to the plate, smeared with a spatula firstly the internal edges of the template hole, and then all template holes are filled with a layer of the grease above than the template thickness. The grease is compacted with a spatula, with an edge excess grease, carefully remove from the plate the template and viewed with the naked eye in the reflected light. (Revised version, Ed. N 3). 5. Packing, labeling, transportation and storage 5.1 Packing, labeling, transportation and storage is carried out according to GOST 1510. (Revised version, Ed. N 2). 6. Manufacturer’s guarantee 6.1 The manufacturer guarantees the conformity of the grease quality with the requirements of this standard, if transportation and storage conditions are met. 6.2 The warranty period for storing of the grease is 5 years from the day of manufacture.
