Grease Arktol (TU 0254-024-08151164-2015)

The grease Arktol was produced by ELC Micom LLC in collaboration with the FAI «25 Statement scientific-research Institute of hematology of the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation”, as a multipurpose frost-resistance grease with the high temperature resistance, replacing Litol-24, Lita, Zimol, VNII NP-242, CIATIM-201, CIATIM-203, Konstalin, 1-13 grease, LZ-31Т, GPO, LKS and compatible with lithium greases, intended, at first of all, for weaponry and military technics in the regions of the far North and the Arctic. Based on the test results and experience of the grease application of the Arktol, JSC KAMAZ was made the decision about maximum wide of application the grease in the friction units of of the KAMAZ family of vehicles.

The grease Arktol has been tested in the 21 Statement scientific-research Institute of the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation, at the enterprises of JSC KAMAZ and JSC AZ Ural.

On the grease Arktol, ELC Miscom LLS and FAI “25 Statement scientific-research Institute of the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation” received a joint patent, the Ministry of defense of the Russian Federation carried out of set number of tests and 13.03.2017 was made decision № 9/17 about application of the grease for weaponry, military and special technics.

The successful development of the Arktol noted by Deputy defense Minister of the Russian Federation army General D.V. Bulgakov in an interview with “Military-industrial courier” about system development of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

For reference: the grease Arktol represents itself the dispersion mixture of synthetic oils, thickened by lithium soup, stearic and 12-oxistearis acids with the addition of antifriction, anticorrosion and anti-wear additives.

The grease Arktol has passed additional comparative tests on ground equipment and mechanisms at low temperatures of the Arctic and the far North. Characteristics of the grease Arktol were compared with the same characteristics of Lita, CIATIM-201 and Litol-24 greases. The data is represented below in the table:

According with test results it was founded that multipurpose antifriction plastic grease Arktol significantly exceeds the standard counterparts, both in terms of extreme pressure properties and low- temperature properties. Indicators’ values of the torque at minus 60 Celsius degree of the experimental grease indicate that its application will provide a reliable machine start without means of heating at this temperature. Besides, the grease Arktol maintains reliable operation for ground equipment in the Arctic and the far North in the temperature range from minus 60 (briefly from minus 65 Celsius degree) to plus 150 Celsius degree and is fully compatible with Литол-24 and CIATIM-201 greases and doesn’t require removal of “old” grease before putting in the friction units.
