Grease VNIIP NP-207. Specifications

By the resolution of the State Committee of standards of the Council of Ministers of the USSR of May 12, 1974 N 1101 the data of introduction is established 01.01.75.

The term limit was lifted under Protocol N 4-93 of the Interstate Council for standardization, Metrology and certification (IUS 4-94).

Edition with Changes N 1, 2, 3, 4 approved in November 1976, in February 1979, July 1984, Mart 1989 (IUS 12-76, 3-79, 11-84, 6-89).

This standard applies to the plastic grease VNIIP NP-207, produced with thickening of the organosilicon mixture grease 135-25(GOST 10957-74) and synthetic hydrocarbon oil MAC-35 with a complex calcium soap of synthetic fatty acids with addition of an antioxidant additive – aldolalphanaphthylamine and intended for work in rolling bearings of electro machines and starter-generators with a rotation speed of up to 10000 min at temperature from minus 60 to plus 200 Celsius degree.

1. Specifications

1.1 The grease must be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard, according to technological regulations and from components which applied during producing of grease samples passed state tests with positive results and were approved for using in established order.

1.2 According to physical and chemical indicators, the grease must comply with the requirements and standards are represented below:

2. Acceptance rules

2.1 The grease is taken in batches. A batch is considered to be a quantity of grease weighting up to 150 kg, homogeneous on the quality indicators and accompanied by a quality document.

2.2 The volume of samples is determined according to GOST 2517-85.

2.3 If unsatisfactory test results are obtained for at least one indicator, repeated tests are performed on a newly selected sample take from the same sample.

The results of repeated tests are distributed to the entire batch.

2.4 The indicator under paragraph 11 of the table is determined for grease intended for export.

3. Test methods

3.1 Samples are taken according to GOST 2517-85. For uniformed grease take 1 kg of grease.

3.2 To determine the appearance, the grease is applied with a spatula on a glass plate according GOST 111-2001 size 50x70x2 mm using a template (internal dimensional 35x35 mm, thick 2 mm) and viewed with the naked eye in passing light.

3.3 The corrosion test on metals is carried out on the steel plate grades 45 according GOST 1050-88, or on the copper plates grades M0K or M1k according to GOST 859-2001.

3.4 When determining the free alkali contents according GOST 6707-76 the grease suspension is dissolved at the benzene pure to analysis according to GOST 5955-75.

4. Packing, labeling, transportation and storage

4.1 Packing, labeling, transportation and storage of the grease is carried out according to GOST 1510-84 with the follow addition: the grease is packed in cans made of white tin with with a capacity up to 1 dm, or at the request of consumers in aluminum tubes with a capacity up to 200 g.

Cans and tubes with grease are packed in plank, in lattice boxes or boxes according to GOST 5959-80.

4.2 The grease must be stored in the manufacturer’s container.

5. Manufacturer’s guarantee

5.1 The manufacturer guarantees the conformity of the grease the requirements of this standard if the storage and transportation conditions are met.

5.2 The warranty period for storing in the manufacturer’s container of the grease is 2 years from the day of manufacture.

6. Safety requirement

6.1 According to the degree of impact on the body, the grease belongs to the 4th hazard class according to GOST 12.1.007-76.

6.2 The grease is not explosive; the flash point of the liquid base is higher than 260 Celsius degree.

6.3 The grease is a combustible product. In case of ignites, of the grease the following fire extinguishing means are applicable: foam and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, asbestos felt mat.

6.4 While operate with the grease must apply personal protective equipment according to the industry standards approved in the established order.

6.5 In case of contact the grease with skin it’s necessary to remove with a soft rag and wash with hot water with soap.
