Edition with Changes N 1, 2, 3, 4 approved in September 1978, in October 1980, in January 1985, in November 1989 (IUS 9-78, 12-80, 4-85, 2-90). This standard applies on the working and preservation grease AMS intended to lubricant of various mechanisms operating in water, including sea water, in the temperature range from minus 15 to plus 70 Celsius degree. It’s recommended to apply the grease by spreading at a temperature not lower than 0 Celsius degree. (Revised version, Ed. N 4).
1. Brands and specifications
1.1 Depending on the application are installed the following brands of the grease: AMS-1 и AMS-3, the composition of which is represented in the table 1. Table 1.
Note. Oleo-stearate of aluminum is checked for the absentee of SO ions. The designation of the grease according to GOST 23258: AMS-1 – is 3 Ал/7-1; AMS-3 – is 3 Ал/8-3. (Revised version, Ed. N 3). 1.2 The grease must comply with the requirement of this standard and be produced according to the technology used during manufacture of prototypes of the grease that have been tested with positive results and allowed for use according to established order. 1.3 According to physical and chemical indicators, the grease must comply with the requirements and standards are represented in the table 2:
Table 2
2a. Safety requirement
2a.1 The greaseAMS is a low-toxic product of the 4th hazard-class according to GOST 12.1.007. 2a.2 The grease doesn’t irritate the skin and mucous membranes of the eye; it doesn’t have the ability to accumulate. 2a.3 The maximum permissible concentration of hydrocarbon vapors of the main grease component - cylindric deasphalted oil 52 (vapor’s) in the air of the production room is 300 mg/m. The contents of hydrocarbons in the air is determined by the УГ-2 device. 2a.4 The greaseAMS doesn’t form toxic compounds in the air and waste waters. 2a.5 The greaseAMS is a combustible product of IV group. In case of ignites, all fire extinguishing means are applicable: carbon dioxide, the composition of compressed liquid bromine ethyl, the composition 3,5 and superheated stream. 2a.6 While operate with the grease must apply personal protective equipment according to the industry standards approved by the State Committee for labor and social Affairs of the USSR and VCSPS. Section 2a. (Entered additionally, Ed. N 3). 2. Acceptance rules 2.1 The grease is taken in batches. A batch is considered to be a quantity of grease weighting up to 6 t produced during a technological cycle, homogeneous on the component composition and quality indicators, accompanied by a quality document. (Revised version, Ed. N 4). 2.2 The volume of samples is determined according to GOST 2517. 2.3 If unsatisfactory test results are obtained for at least one indicator, repeated tests are performed on a newly selected sample take from the same sample. The results of repeated tests are distributed to the entire batch. (Revised version, Ed. N 3). 2.4 The contents of water-soluble acids and alkalis the manufacturer determines once every 3 months. When receiving unsatisfactory results of periodic tests, the manufacturer transfers test for this indicator to the category of acceptance test until positive results will be obtained on at least than 3 batches in a row. (Entered additionally, Ed. N 4). 3. Test methods 3.1 Samples of the grease must be taken according to GOST 2517. For combined sample is taken 2 kg of grease. 3.2 The appearance of the grease is determined on a colorless glass plate according GOST 111-2001 size 50x70x2 mm (internal dimensions 35x35 mm, thin 1 mm) and viewed through passing light. 3.1, 3.2 (Revised version, Ed. N 3). 3.3 The protective properties test is carried out on steel plates grades 40, 45 of 50 (GOST 1050) and brass plates grades Л63 (GOST 15527*). *GOST 15527-2004 is valid. – The note of the manufacturer of the database. (Revised version, Ed. N 2). 4. Packing, labeling, transportation and storage 4.1 Packing, labeling, transportation and storage is carried out according to GOST 1510 with the following addition: the grease is packed in cans made with white tin with capacity of no more than 20 kg. The grease must be stored in the manufacturer’s container. 5. Manufacturer’s guarantee 5.1 The manufacturer guarantees the conformity of the grease quality with the requirements of this standard if transportation and storage conditions are met. 5.2 The warranty time for storing of the grease is 5 years from the day of manufacture. 5.1, 5.2 (Revised version, Ed. N 3). 5.3 (Excluded, Ed. N 3). Section 6. (Excluded, Ed. N 4). |
